You know you have the best roommates...

When you come home from a really crummy day and you treat your roommates less than stellar and leave, but when you come back you see this

and this

And when that same awesome roommate has cleaned your side of the room

Then they feed you dinner, tell you why you're great, and try to convince you that one of your roommates has joined a sorority. They sit and talk with you until you smile and laugh. I've been blessed with some of the best!
The sorority T-shirt. Yeah...they tried to convince me Sarah joined a sorority.
The day she joins a sorority will be the day pigs fly.
And just to add to all of that greatness our home teachers brought this over for us.
Obviously they're welcome anytime:)

People are so nice when you need them most. Thanks to my dear roommates, especially Carolyn and Nicole (who even though she doesn't technically live here is here more than some who really do live here)

I love you girls!

Forgiveness Flour

When I went to the door, at the whisper of
Knocking, I saw Simeon Gartner's daughter,
Kathleen, standing there, in her shawl and her
Shame, sent to ask "Forgiveness Flour" for her
Bread. "Forgiveness Flour" we call it in our
Corner. If one has erred, one is sent to ask
For flour of his neighbors. If they loan it to
Him, that means he can stay, but if they
Refuse, he had best take himself off. I looked
At Kathleen. . . what a jewel of a daughter,
Though not much like her father, more's the
Pity. "I'll give you flour," I said, and went to
Measure it. Measuring was the rub. If I gave
Too much, neighbors would think I made sin
Easy, but if I gave too little, they would label
Me "close." While I stood measuring, Joel, my
Husband came in from the mill, a great bag of
Flour on his shoulder, and seeing her there,
Shrinking in the doorway, he tossed the bag at
Her feet. "Here, take all of it." And so she
Had flour enough for many loaves, while I
Stood measuring.

Give freely, and if you have something that you are holding on to, let it go. You'd like the same done for you, wouldn't you?

Picture(s)
This is me with my brother John. These pictures explain our relationship pretty well. I love that boy-we've been best friends since the day he was born.

11 Random Things
1) Whenever I go out to eat anywhere that has pebbled ice I make sure to finish my drink while I'm there and then fill my cup to the brim with only ice and eat it the rest of the night
2) As crazy as it is I like being a little bit sunburnt. Maybe that's because I'm allergic to sunscreen.
3) When I pick up a hamburger I eat the whole thing at once. I don't like setting it down and picking it back up
4) I have a strange love for dental floss.
5) My motto in life is Life's short, eat dessert first. Make a dessert and share it with me and we will be instantaneous and lifelong friends
6) If there is any hint of daylight outside then I like the lights inside to be off. I'd sit in my room until I absolutely cannot see anything before turning the lights on if everyone would let me
7) I have asthma
8) I'm not particularly fond of powder sugar
9) I have an obsession with stripes. Probably 80% of the shirts I own have stripes.
10) 4th of July is my very favorite holiday. Fireworks, sleeping out for the Parade, hot air balloons, everyone wearing patriotic colors. I love it all.
11) My biggest fear is going blind

Questions from Tiff
1. What are you most passionate about? (Hobby, activity, dream..)
First and foremost Ice Cream, but I'm also very passionate about my dream trip. See #4. I'm passionate about lots of little things. Letters, Draw Something, Blogs, my Testimony ask my roommates if you want a more complete list.

2. What's the coolest thing you've ever done?
I swam with Alligators once. That was pretty cool.

3. Biggest regret
When my parents got divorced I completely shut myself off to both of them. One of the dumbest decisions I could have ever made, but I did it. Me and my mom were very best friends before hand. I thought that because she was so busy she didn't have enough time for all of us, so by not involving her too much in my life I was giving my siblings more time with her. Now I know that it's crazy to think that way and now we are the best of friends, but I regret all that lost time.

4. If you could travel anywhere, regardless of expense, where would you go?
The Netherlands. Hands down no hesitation. I have been in love with this country ever since I did a report on it in 6th grade. It’s so gorgeous. I want to see the tulips and the windmills. This is one place I will go before I die.

5. Define the following: Love, Happiness, Friend.
Love- Love is unconditional, it is not judgmental, it is everlasting. Love is caring about someone because of the imperfections that make them who they are not in spite of them. Love is all encompassing. Love is being there for ones you care about at any and every time they need you.

Happiness-Happiness is a decision you have to make every day. To be happy you have to see the good in life. Happiness is a mind set. If you want to be happy then decide it and make it so.

A Friend- a friend is someone you can trust. A person you can turn to. They don't have to know every little thing about your life, your past, or your dreams, but a friend is someone who cares about the things you do for you. A friend is someone who has influenced you for the better.

6. Have you had a defining moment in your life? What makes you who you are.
I don't know that I've had one specific defining moment in my life, but experiences I've gone through have made me who I am. Moving right before 7th grade effected who my friends were all throughout high school. The groups of friends I've had over the years have greatly influenced my life. My parents getting divorced. The young women leaders that I had. Truly, no other group has changed my life as much as they have.

7. Best date you've ever been on
Last summer I went to a Bee's game with Jesse and His parents. It was around the 4th of July and there were fireworks after the game. It started raining a little bit and surprisingly that made it all the more fun.

8. Something extremely weird about you, that most people don't know.
When I eat my food I eat all of one thing before moving onto the next one. Usually I go from what I like least on my plate to what I like best. Last the best of all the game ;)

9. Favorite book (now or as a child or both!)
I absolutely loved the book The Two Princesses of Bamarre.

10. Favorite movie and why
Well for a really really long time my favorite movie was The Parent Trap. These days I love the movie Just Like Heaven. I like the idea of helping someone find themselves again, it’s kind of what I want to go into as my profession.

11. Biggest goal for 2012 - that you WILL achieve.
Run in the Lindon Days race. I know it's not even a big one at all, but it is something  I have always fantasized about doing. And this is my year and I will do it. Also, learn how to do my hair.

Questions from Madi
1. Where's the best place you've traveled?
In 6th grade I went to Mexico and loved it. I also loved the trip with a group of my friends to Oregon.

2. If you could eat anything right now, what would it be?
Vanilla Ice cream with hot apple pie or some sticky fingers from Wingers

3. Age of your first crush
It was in Kindergarten. So I was either 5 or 6.

4. Someone you want to be friends with, and I'm not talking famous here
Chylie's boyfriend Matthew

5. Favorite Flower
Gerber Daisies or tulips

6. What's the coolest activity you've ever done?
See #2 above.

7. To you, what's the best thing about March?
I love the hint of spring. My favorite times of year are when you can get away with wearing shorts and a hoodie. March is the perfect month for that.

8. What's your favorite movie? Why?
I answered this one above, but in case you didn't read it here it is again. Well for a really really long time my favorite movie was The Parent Trap. These days I love the movie Just Like Heaven. I like the idea of helping someone find themselves again, it’s kind of what I want to go into as my profession.

9. If you knew the world was going to end in 10 years, so school wouldn't make all that much of a difference, what would you do with your time?
I would travel the world and see all the wonders of the world.

10. What language have you always wanted to know?
One of the clicky African Languages. That would be pretty sweet.

11. Summer or Winter?
Summer. I'd rather be warm than cold any day.

9.  What's your go to snack?
10. What is something you are thankful for that isn't one of the norms like friends, family, education, or church?
11. When it comes to ordering a frosty do you get Vanilla or Chocolate?

Happy Pi Day!

You know that cute roommate Stephanie of mine? In case you forgot here's a picture:

Pi day is a big deal for her, so we went all out this year.
Brownies from the Creamery:)
Razzleberry pie, Strawberry Lemonade Bars, and Whopper pie
This picture perfectly describes how we were feeling:)
Someone here on campus could name 900 digits of Pi. I'm lucky if I can name any past 3.14. That roommate of mine can spout off about 15. She's pretty cool.

On another note, Ladies and Gents, I am proud to announce that it has been 6 months today since that Missionary of mine has been out! Woohoo!

I'm a little excited. Can you tell? Time is the strangest thing. At times I have thought holy cow where has the time gone? And other days I feel like two years is seriously forever. I have come to the conclusion that although each day may not go by very fast looking back time has gone by rather quickly. I miss this boy like crazy, but I'm so proud of his decision and diligence in serving the Lord.

If time keeps going this fast, he'll be home in no time:)

Happy Pi day bloggers!

Oh and if you need a quick pick me up read this post. It’s one of my mom's. She’s pretty great.

Invisible

One day I was sitting across from a glass door and thought it was so interesting that you could only distinctly see the reflection of my shoes. I almost felt invisible to the world, lost even.

Have you ever felt this way? Like no one can see you?

I think we've all experienced that feeling at one time or another-it's only human.

Today while I was sitting in Sacrament meeting I had the strongest prompting I think I've ever had in my life to get up and share my testimony. Since moving to my BYU ward I haven't shared my testimony. It's not that I'm scared to or that I don't like talking in front of people. I just never felt impressed to get up, but today was different.

The moment the Bishop started sharing his testimony I knew that I needed to, and that I needed to be one of the first people to get up or else I wouldn't go up at all.

I bore my testimony of Heavenly Fathers goodness. (For those of you who have already heard this I apologize) He is evident everywhere. This week has been a bit of a roller coaster at our apartment, and it has amazed me to see how many people have stepped in with kind notes, treats, and hugs. Heavenly Father works through other people. I am 100% positive about that.

He knows each of us so personally. He knows what we need to strengthen us and keep us going. I've always believed that Christ knows us individually, but after today I can say that I KNOW without a shadow of a doubt that Christ lives and He really does care about our sorrows, heartaches, and pains. Without Him we would be nothing

So even on those days when we do feel invisible and that there isn't a person in the world who cares about what we are going through think again. Christ knows you and He cares. He cares a lot.
